Very interesting.I note that many finds predate the time when the canals were dug. I though the early canals were dug from 1480 onwards, with the main one's only dug in the 17th century? So I could understand maybe items being lost/discarded that were maybe from the preceding 50 years, but weird that there are many older finds. Perhaps they are from older demolished buildings, or washed into the canals from elsewhere.
